Viewing these documentsWell if you're reading this you probably know the answer to this one, but we should comment on web browsers anyway. This web site looks best when viewed with either the Netscape or Internet Explorer browsers. If you are not using either of these browsers (say, if some images don't come out, things are slow compared to other people) you may wish to consult one of the above sites to get a more compatible browser. Also, these pages contain a lot of interesting graphics. Most of them appear as medium-sized images (smaller versions of the full-sized images) throughout the document. In many cases you can view a larger version by clicking on the image you are interested in. Good places to start learning about The Cassini Mission are the Frequently Asked Questions page and the Spacecraft Page. If you have comments on our home page, or have a question not covered in these pages, send us an email at Cassini@jpl.nasa.gov
SpeedMost browsers and operating systems provide caches to store recently viewed files. If these caches are active on your system you will be able to download a HTML file once (per sitting; it doesn't work if you quit and then come back the next day) and then come back to it later without reloading. If your browser is reloading a section each time you view it, look into the cache options of your browser and system. If you seem to be waiting a long time for the documents to transfer, it's probably due to one of the following reasons:
The best way to speed up traffic time is to shut off auto image loading on your browser. You can still load the figures in later, even one at a time, if you need them, and the speed increase will be very noticable. To turn off image loading, look in the Options menu of your web browser (if you don't have one, look under the menus you do have or look for the Preferences). There should be a button called "Auto Load Images" or something similar. Unclick it to turn off image loading. If you want to load the images by hand later, you can click on the "Images" button found on most web browsers to load all of them at once, or click and hold the mouse button over an unloaded image if you're just interested in one of them.
